Welcome to the new Country Place - Plano Website Version 2.0 !

Purpose - This site has several purposes:

  • First we want this site to be a useful resource for Country Place residents for information about our events, facilities, rules, and any other information that we can add that is helpful.

  • Next we want to provide a place for residents to share experiences, suggestions, and resources with other residents.  Working as a large group, our collective expertise, knowledge and ideas can help each other in many way. Additionally, we all have things and events in our lives that we are personally proud of, so feel free to use the forums and other resources as a way to share with our neighbors and friends.

  • Finally, we want to showcase Country Place to non-residents and those who may be considering moving into Country Place.  We are proud to live here and want to share the reasons why with everyone else.

We seek out and welcome all ideas about how to make this site better.  If you have a suggestion, please use our Web Site Comments form.  Having said that, please be aware that this site is a continual work-in-process.  It is not complete at the present time and it may never be complete in the sense that we will update and modify it continuously. Several menu items will link to a "coming attractions" page.  If an item is in that state, then it will be turned on in the future as soon as we can get it ready and tested.

Member's Area

Most of the cool stuff on the site is for members only and must be accessed with a Username and Password.  For security reasons, we are not going to allow users to register without manual confirmation of identity by a person on the staff.  That is, when you fill out the registration form you will not be automatically authorized.  Someone will look at the info to verify it and may even call you to verify that you are registering.  Registration is open to all Country Place residents simply by asking for it and filling out the registration form. Here are the steps to follow to register:

  1. Click on the link at the bottom of this page; it will take you to the registration form.
  2. Fill out the form.  Some fields are required and private and some are optional and public (to members of CP).
  3. The system will send an email to the address you entered as your private email address.
  4. Open your email program and click the link in the email you receive from us.  This will verify that the email address you entered is valid.  If the email does not show up in a few minutes, then check your spam folder.  Sometimes these automated messages get mis-directed there.
  5. Your application will then be reviewed by a member of our staff.  This is to verify that you are indeed a resident of Country Place and not someone outside of Country Place.
  6. You will be sent another email to inform you that you have been approved. Since this is a manual process, it may take a day or so although we attempt to be as prompt as possible.  Again, check you spam folder if you do not see a response in a timely manner.
  7. You can now log in using the username and password you entered when you filled out the form.

The information you will be asked for in the registration form is:

  • Real Name
  • Username - this can be a name that indicates your real name, i.e. rondawes, or one that is anonymous, i.e. TexasDude. The username cannot contain spaces or special characters other than - (dash) or . (period).
  • The password you want to use.  The password must be at least 6 characters long and can contain numbers or letters but no special characters.
  • Address
  • Home phone number
  • Valid email address.  After manual approval by the site admin, the system will send you a confirmation of registration via this email address and you will not be able to access the site until you respond by clicking on a link in that email.
  • You will be asked for your address, home phone number and email twice.  One is mandatory to verify your identity but will not be shown to others.  The second is optional and if you provide it will show in your online profile for others to see.
  • Your personal info will not be shared with others without your consent.
  • Other optional fields may be on the form to be used in your online profile but are not required.
  • You may have multiple registrations per household.

We want to thank Regan Boone and Marci Haas for the Country Place Website Version 1.0.  We know first hand how much work it takes to get these things together and keep them in order.  Thanks a bunch!

And that leads to this request:  Keeping the site fresh and current is a lot of work. It would be great if we could spread it out over a number of volunteers willing to chip in some time and effort.  If you are one of those superb, outstanding and generous individuals, please drop us a note on the Web Site Comments form.  You don't need to be a computer wizard but you do need to know your way around a keyboard and being a decent wordsmith would be a plus.

Rules

There aren't many of them.  Basically, everyone is to be civil and not make any personal attacks or take any other action that is inappropriate.  Feel free to express your opinion and express it strongly if you feel the need to, but you still have to play nice or we'll remove you from the playground.
